Virgie Thurman Passoa
|Virgie Thurman Passoa, 80, of 4712 Greenleigh Road, Richmond, died Saturday, May 3, 2003,
in Memorial Regional Medical Center. She was the wife of Benjamin Passoa.Born Nov. 23, 1922,
in Gladys, she was a daughter of the late John and Carrie Rice Thurman. She was a retired federal
government employee of the Small Business Administration.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Wendell Passoa of Mechanicsville; a daughter, Wendy Waldek and her husband, John, of Mechanicsville; a brother, Garnet Thurman of Richmond; two sisters, Viola Burnette and Jane Poindexter, both of Gladys; and two stepgranddaughters, Tracy and Katy Waldeck.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2003, in the Thurman Family Cemetery by the Rev. Michael Jones.
The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Finch & Finch Inc. Funeral and
Cremation Service, Altavista.
