Katie DePriest Davidson
|Katie Mitchell DePriest Davidson, 92, Route 2, Gladys, died Saturday morning in Lynchburg General Hospital. Twice married, her first husband was the late Robert W. DePriest and her second husband was the late Percy W. Davidson.
Born in Campbell County, she was the daughter of the late William C. Mitchell and Anna Harvey Mitchell. She was a member of the Episcopal Church.
She is survived by three daughters, Annie Denton, Bellview, Fl., Mattie Wray and Nancy Kerr, both of Gladys; a son-in-law, Wesley Kerr, Gladys; a stepson, Percy Davidson, Rustburg; four stepdaughters, Nora Hudson and Annie Hudson, both of Lynchburg, May Torrence, Rustburg, and Mamie Frazier, Naruna; a sister, Anna Moorman, Gladys; 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Monday in Christ Church Episcopal Cemetery on Route 701 in Gladys by the Rev. Joe Shields and Miles Van Skike.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Whitten Park Avenue Chapel and at other times at the residence.
