What is a County Heritage Book?

A County Heritage book contains a general history of the county, as well as specific histories of towns and communities, schools, organizations, churches, cemeteries and families. It is compiled by members of the community, organized as a committee, whose common goal is to put into the hands of the citizenry a book that the county can be proud to call it's own.

All residents, former residents, newcomers and those with roots in that particular county are invited to submit a 500-word family history and photo to be printed FREE. The finished product is a 9"x 12" book, beautifully bound, indexed, with photos enhanced and skillfully reproduced and printed by Walworth Publishing Co. & County Heritages Inc.

The book will also include stories of County places and events. We are especially interested in church, club or organization histories and communities. These stories are entitled to 250 words and 1 photo FREE. Additional words at 10 cents and additional photos at $12.50 each are available for all categories.

Anyone with interest is welcome to attend a meeting of the Heritage Book Committee to learn more details and ask any questions you may have. Please bring along your stories and photos to be included in this book. Attend the next meeting and help support the effort to keep your County Heritage alive. If you don't make sure your family is represented ... who will?
