Arthur Ramsey Hendricks, 66 of Rt. 2 Gladys, died Wednesday, November 25, 1998 in Avante at Lynchburg. He was the husband of Elizabeth Callahan Hendricks. Born October 27, 1932 in Pittsylvania County, he was the son of the late John H. and Jane Dove Hendricks. He was a retired employee of Bell's Sawmill. In addition to his wife he is survived by one son, Clint Ramsey Hendricks of Long Island; one brother Lloyd Hendricks of Lynchburg; six sisters, Willie Sue Martin of Gretna, Gladys Hendricks, Coreen Oakes, Lula Clay, Barbara Hendricks and Elizabeth Simpson all of Hurt and one granddaughter, Sarah Blankenship of Altavista. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Gail Hendricks. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 pm Friday, November 27, 1998 at Swan Creek Baptist Church by the Rev. Shelton W. Miles, III. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will recieive friends from 7-8:30 pm today at Finch & Finch Funeral Home, Altavista and at other times at the residence.
